Meet your registered dietitian

I’m here to help remove the hassle and stress that meals can create.

Food is meant to bring us together, fuel our bodies and bring peace to the mind. I’m a big believer in all foods fit. I like to take away the negative connotation we use around food and change the conversation into inclusion, not exclusion. Let’s talk about sustainable changes that will work best for you!

I’m registered with the College of Dietitians of Alberta since 2017. Over the last 6 years, I’ve worked in various inpatient units and primary care networks. I have experience in pediatrics, youth and adults. I’ve worked with patients and clients of all ages, backgrounds and conditions. Through all these experiences, I’ve learned how impactful nutrition can be on how people are feeling physically and mentally.

I specialize in:

  • digestive issues (IBS, IBD, SIBO)

  • diabetes

  • heart disease (cholesterol, hypertension)

  • picky eating

  • meal planning

  • food relationship

  • PCOS

Based in Alberta, I can help you to create sustainable changes that will positively impact your life for years to come. With my fully virtual practice using the Jane App we can meet online whenever and wherever in Alberta that works best for you.

How I accidentally fell into my dream career

I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know what a dietitian did prior to me enrolling in the dietetics program at the University of Alberta. I grew up an extremely picky eater (only eating bacon, celery, white pasta with no sauce, cookies and chicken fingers) and never thought much about what I was eating. I was completing a science degree and I took Nutrition 101 as an option. I fell in love with the material, learning about how nutrients could impact our health (and that I was probably deficient in a few vitamins/minerals due to my picky eating resulting in me being 4 inches shorter than rest of my siblings and blind as bat). I found out that someone could have a career in nutrition, so I made the switch. Over my degree, I learned in depth about how nutrition impacts the human body through the life span and through different medical conditions. Through my career, I learned about additional factors like stress, food insecurity and food environment can impact our food choices.

This career changed my life and introduced me to some of my favourite activities (hiking, cross country skiing, golf to name a few) because of the opportunities I’ve been given.

What you can expect in your appointment

My counselling style is very positive, I am very much a glass half full kind of gal. I like to get to know my clients and find out what have been the successes or challenges that they’ve experienced when trying to make changes to their nutrition. I love collaborating with clients to come up with goals and a plan that works best for their lifestyle. With my online platform through Jane, we can meet when is most convenient for you.
